Dallas parties with Dodge, Mötley Crüe and Gas Monkey’s Richard Rawlings

Dodge Charger, Challenger and Viper owners are about to get the show of a lifetime in Dallas on Nov. 1. The place is Gas Monkey Garage guy Richard Rawlings‘ house (actually, his new concert venue in Dallas, Gas Monkey Live) and the band is rock icons Mötley Crüe! Dodge Challenger, Charger and Viper owners can get all the details at dodgerocksgasmonkey.com.

How did this happen? Must be the power of the Woodward Dream Cruise in metro Detroit.

Richard Rawlings was on hand for this year’s Dream Cruise — the classic car fest that takes over metro Detroit’s Woodward Avenue in mid-August — to help Dodge launch the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat. He also joined the cruisers and posed for what seemed like a billion photos with fans at the Chrysler Group display.

Rawlings had more than cars on the brain that day, he wanted to rock. Every time he was on stage talking to fans he called out to Dodge and SRT brand CEO Tim Kuniskis, saying he needed a band for his place in Dallas and asking Tim to call up Mötley Crüe (Dodge is sponsoring Mötley Crüe’s All Bad Things Must End “Final Tour” of large arenas across North America.)

Kuniskis had a laugh that day. Who was he to get rock legends to play a special show?

Well, it helps that the band happens to be gear heads in addition to rock stars. Earlier this year the video for Mötley Crüe’s classic “Kickstart My Heart” was re-released with new Dodge scenes added. Then, the video for country music star’s Justin Moore’s version of the ballad “Home Sweet Home” (from the Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe album) showcases a 2015 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack parked outside the club.

We don’t know who called whom, but it’s happening! Dodge Challenger, Charger and Viper owners who drive to Dallas for Nov. 1 get a car show, thrill rides in Dodge Viper drift car and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and a private concert from Mötley Crüe.

Without a doubt the spaces for this gig will go fast. So get online now to dodgerocksgasmonkey.com for your reservation.

How far will you go to be in Dallas on Nov. 1?

Do you know your blood type? Mine is 100 octane (not your standard blood bank classification). At any given moment, I’m thinking about cars – driving one, fixing one, buying one or (in my dreams) restoring one. So I love to tell stories that involve horsepower, brake and wheel diameters and 0-to-60 times – and the people who make it happen. Because behind every awesome vehicle are amazing people with vision and the desire to make it a reality. I cover Mopar, Dodge, SRT and motorsports for Stellantis Digital Media. I learned to drive on a 1973 Jeep CJ-5 with the rare Super Jeep option package and three-speed manual transmission. I still belong to the dwindling club of people who prefer to shift their own gears, and think the best way to drive is with the top down!
