The “evil twin” Fiat 500X crossovers were on display last week at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.
Mopar took two 500X crossovers and gave each a decidedly different makeover for the show in Las Vegas.
The Chicane version of the 500X is a “track focused” vehicle, according to Todd Beddick, head of Mopar accessory and performance portfolio.
It was lowered closer to the ground and given a wider wheel base with flairs over the front and rear wheels. Designers gave the 500X a unique Mopar fascia, oversized 20-inch two-tone satin black and gloss black wheels, a gloss competition blue exterior with a Chicane bodyside stripe and gloss black paint on the roof.
Inside the Chicane is a bright pedal kit, which includes satin black door sill guards with the 500X logo, a 500X logo-embossed premium carpet mat, a cargo management kit and a telescopic bar organizer – all available from Mopar.
The Katzkin leather seats are bordered in Mopar blue, which can also be found on the instrument panel.
A 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 engine powers the Chicane, with a cat-back exhaust and exhaust tips.
“(The Chicane is) really taking it to the extremes,” Beddick said.
While the Chicane is geared toward the track and performance on the road, the Mobe concept is “very lifestyle focused,” Beddick stated.
The Mobe concept vehicle was developed around a kite-surfer theme, which can easily be seen with the variety of graphics throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
This unique all-wheel-drive 500X has an ivory pearl exterior with matte bronze paint on the hood, roof, mirror caps and lower grille. Along the lower sides of the Mobe are “X” stripe graphics in Mopar Blue. This blue can also be found on a single pocket of the production 18-inch wheels.
Moving to the interior, a blue kite surfer decal can be found on the dashboard.
On top of the vehicle is a Mopar roof rack to transport a kiteboard or other recreational equipment, while under the hood is a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 engine with a cat-back exhaust.
These Mopar concepts showcase the range of personalities for the Fiat 500X, and how Mopar accessories can be utilized for street performance or for tackling the outdoors.
