The central Michigan town of Midland was hard-hit with massive flooding last May, sweeping away homes, businesses and infrastructure in a torrent of water some are calling the 500-year flood.
In the months since, Ram Nation volunteers have worked with United Way of Midland County and Michigan Ram Truck dealers to help devastated Midland residents safely work to recover their lives and livelihoods. Ram Nation is a grassroots volunteer organization created by Ram Truck in 2012 to help people in need following a disaster.
Participating Michigan Ram Truck dealers opened their doors as Midland Relief Donation Centers, collecting personal protective equipment, food, water, personal care items and household goods from volunteers and others wanting to aid in the recovery.
Mike Koval, head of Ram brand, recently joined representatives of United Way of Midland County at Feeny Chrysler Dodge JeepĀ® Ram of Midland where Ram Nation volunteers were getting ready to drive their Ram trucks loaded with relief supplies to the Flood Recovery Depot in Midland County for distribution to those impacted by the disaster.
In addition to helping collect and distribute needed supplies, the Ram Truck brand is matching all monetary donations made by dealerships to the United Way of Midland County in support of flood relief efforts up to $50,000.
