2019 Jeep® Cherokee offers premium trim and numerous safety features

When drivers get behind the wheel of the 2019 Jeep® Cherokee Overland, they will notice premium trim, advanced safety features and superior on-road performance.

The interior of the Overland edition, which is one of five Cherokee models, offers amenities such as a premium wood grain steering wheel and leather-wrapped instrument panel along with piano-black highlights and trims.

Once the midsize SUV takes to the road, those inside will notice its ride and handling.

“Even though it is equipped with all-wheel drive and gives the best all-weather performance, it needs to be a nice riding vehicle,” said Rich Silbert, Jeep Cherokee engineering manager. “When you are running around town doing errands with the family or going out for a night on the town, it needs to be a comfortable, quiet ride.”

The new Cherokee offers 80 safety features, including ParkView rear backup camera, lane keep assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning and adaptive cruise control.

Another safety feature that is helpful in neighborhoods is park assist with braking and Rear Cross Path detection.

“Even when you can’t see and the rearview camera can’t see, you will be notified if there is an object coming behind you,” Silbert added.

Hello from the Motor City! I’m Edward Cardenas and I’m multimedia editor for Stellantis. As a lifelong Detroiter, I have been surrounded by the automotive industry. I’ve had members of my immediate and extended family work in the industry. I’ve covered it as a journalist and advocated for it as a communications professional. I have also experienced the thrills of the industry while riding in a race car at nearly 200 miles per hour. Having this breadth of experience, I look forward to drawing upon my experiences to bring a wide range of stories, photos and videos about Chrysler, FIAT and Alfa Romeo to Stellantis Digital Media. When I’m not covering my brands, I’m spending time with my wife and two boys.
