2017 Ram Power Wagon Builds on 70-Year Off-Road Heritage

Capability! It’s what truck buyers look for first and foremost to make sure the job gets done, or to just have some fun! So it’s little wonder that truck makers traditionally roll out those capability numbers and features early and often to would-be truck buyers.

For the Ram Truck Power Wagon that ‘tradition’ comes wrapped in more than a half-century of capability and distinction that stretches all the way back to the 1940s when the U.S. government tapped the Dodge brand to supply military trucks to help the war effort.

With the debut this week of the new 2017 Ram Power Wagon at the Chicago Auto Show, the Ram Truck brand continues to build on that storied heritage – forged in war and re-invented to power the needs of post-war consumers.

In this video, FCA historian Brandt Rosenbusch traces the 70-year evolution of Power Wagon from a military warrior to a versatile heavy-duty civilian workhorse with a love for off-roading.
