Minivan Monday: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica filled with innovations

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica builds on a legacy of innovation in the minivan segment.

More than 30 years ago, FCA US LLC shook the automotive world with the introduction of the minivan, and over the course of the next five minivan generations introduced 78 innovations. In the newest generation of minivan, the Pacifica adds 37 minivan firsts.

Some of these innovations are apparent, such as the dual-pane sunroof with third-row fixed glass, second-row Stow ‘n Go seats with Easy Tilt, 10-inch touchscreens in the second row and optional 20-inch wheels and tires.

“The all-new Chrysler Pacifica was thoughtfully designed and engineered to provide unsurpassed levels of comfort, convenience, technology and functionality, making it the perfect combination for modern families,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands, FCA – North America.

In addition to these innovations, the Pacifica also features patented inventions created by employees and designed for the all-new minivan.

Hello from the Motor City! I’m Edward Cardenas and I’m multimedia editor for Stellantis. As a lifelong Detroiter, I have been surrounded by the automotive industry. I’ve had members of my immediate and extended family work in the industry. I’ve covered it as a journalist and advocated for it as a communications professional. I have also experienced the thrills of the industry while riding in a race car at nearly 200 miles per hour. Having this breadth of experience, I look forward to drawing upon my experiences to bring a wide range of stories, photos and videos about Chrysler, FIAT and Alfa Romeo to Stellantis Digital Media. When I’m not covering my brands, I’m spending time with my wife and two boys.
