Truck Thursday: All-new Ram 1500 Rebel raises the bar on off-road fun

Goodbye winter! Hello spring! Finally, we can look forward to taking life by the wheel and letting that ‘inner Rebel’ out for some fair-weather fun. And here’s just the ticket to kick up some serious dust!

The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel was judged the Northwest Automotive Press Association’s winner of the Pickups Category at their recent 24th annual ‘Mudfest’ competition. The Rebel 1500 was chosen over entries from every pickup truck manufacturer in the U.S. market.

This new Ram 1500 Rebel is reporting for off-road duty with serious capability under the hood and new 18-inch wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, driven by an electronic-locking rear differential.

Along with Ram’s Active-level four-corner air suspension and one-inch factory lift, the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel has added coil spring suspension and a standard one-inch factory lift.

Newly designed Bilstein shocks are built to meet the toughest off-road challenges with remote reservoirs that keep the shocks cool and work with unique rear suspension geometry to keep the tires in traction.

Hill-descent control puts you in charge on more demanding downhill terrain while skid plates on the transfer case, steering system, oil pan and gas tank take the worry out of pushing your fun to the limit.

And, new Quad Cab configurations also ensure plenty of room and comfort for you, your trailmates and all your off-road adventure stuff.
