7 Tips for Plugging Into Adventure With the Wrangler 4xe

Iconic open-air freedom meets eco-friendly technology in the Jeep® Wrangler 4xe. Capable of up to 21 miles of nearly silent, zero-emission, electric-only propulsion and an estimated 50 MPGe, 4xe marks the arrival of the most capable, technically advanced and efficient Wrangler ever. Whether you’re a Wrangler 4xe owner, or just want to learn more about this innovative electrified vehicle, here are seven tips to make the most of the new electrified future of adventure.

1. Get to Know the Three Driving Modes

The Wrangler 4xe hybrid powertrain has three modes of operation, known as E Selec, that let you decide how and when to use your electric range. The driver can select the desired powertrain mode — Hybrid, Electric or eSave — via buttons mounted on the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel:

2. Optimize Your Electric Range With Hybrid Electric Pages

To help optimize the benefit of the E Selec modes, the Wrangler 4xe offers Hybrid Electric Pages on the Uconnect system. The Hybrid Electric Pages allow drivers to monitor power flow, schedule charging times to take advantage of lower electric rates, and view their driving history as it relates to electric and gasoline usage:

3. Track Battery Power and Driving Range

Thanks to icons on the center cluster, as well as Eco Coaching via the Uconnect screen, you can easily track your overall battery charge and its effect on pure electric range, gas range and combined range:

4. Tap Into Regenerative Braking

Among the greatest benefits of hybrid technology, regenerative braking reroutes power that would normally be lost back to the battery pack for later use:

5. Schedule Your Charging Sessions

Take advantage of off-peak charging hours by scheduling your charging sessions. You can set up a charging schedule within the Uconnect Hybrid Electric Pages. Leverage the information saved in your driving history to figure out how much time you need to charge on a given day:

6. Charge Now Instead of Later

With the Wrangler 4xe, you don’t need to stick to scheduled charging times. You can use your Uconnect screen, or a double plug sequence, to take advantage of an opportunity to charge while you’re out and about:

7. Get Familiar With the Unique Sounds of the 4xe

Pure electric operation can be quiet on the inside and outside, so engineers created a whooshing sound for pedestrian warning. Get to know the sounds of the 4xe here:
