Just as the smoke clears from Fourth of July celebrations, you may see some classic and collector cars emerging from the haze. On Friday, car collectors and auto enthusiasts alike will celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day by taking to the streets in their collector cars or attending any of the more than 100 events planned across the U.S. and Canada.

National Collector Car Appreciation Day kicked off in 2010 and is officially recognized by the United States government on the second Friday of July each year. It is held to “raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.”

Here at Chrysler Group, we are honored to have some of the most passionate car collectors who keep the spirit of this day alive throughout the year. We see it in Facebook pages and groupsMopar clubs across the U.S., and in worldwide organizations, such as Chrysler Club, which is planning a weekend-long celebration of Collector Car Appreciation Day in Auburn Hills, Mich. The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Penn. also takes place this weekend, bringing in Mopar-or-no-car lovers from everywhere to admire more than 2,000 vehicles.

It’s these fantastic enthusiasts who not only contribute to making our job so much fun, but also keep the heritage of the company alive. We will never forget where we came from, and that is thanks in large part to our thousands of collector car fans.

So, now we call on all of you collectors and fans to participate in this year’s Collector Car Appreciation Day and share your experience with us! Post some pictures, videos or simply tell us all about your ride or your dream car on the Chrysler Group Facebook page.
